REMOVAL
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during airbag ECU assembly removal/installation are shown below.

After the ignition switch is turned off, the radio and display receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

PROCEDURE

Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (for HV Model)

3. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD (for HV Model)

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
-
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

6. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

7. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT

8. REMOVE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY
(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
CAUTION:
-
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
-
If this procedure is performed without disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal of the battery, the airbag may deploy even if an impact is applied only to the airbag ECU assembly. Therefore, make sure that the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal of the battery is disconnected before performing this procedure.
(c) Pull out each connector with its connector lock pushed to disconnect the 3 connectors.

Push the Connector Lock

Pull Out the Lock Lever
|
NOTICE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(d) Remove the 3 bolts and airbag ECU assembly.
NOTICE:
If the airbag ECU assembly has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the airbag ECU assembly with a new one.
