DESCRIPTION

for HV Model:

The forward recognition camera receives signals from the brake booster with master cylinder assembly (skid control ECU) corresponding to the brake control status via the CAN communication line.
When a brake control system malfunction signal is received from the brake booster with master cylinder assembly (skid control ECU), the forward recognition camera outputs U041881.

for Gasoline Model:

The forward recognition camera receives signals from the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) corresponding to the brake control status via the CAN communication line.
When a brake control system malfunction signal is received from the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU), the forward recognition camera outputs U041881.

NOTICE:

When replacing the forward recognition camera, always replace it with a new one. If a forward recognition camera which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.
If the forward recognition camera has been replaced with a new one, be sure to perform forward recognition camera adjustment.
HINT:

Forward recognition camera adjustment can be performed by using either "One Time Recognition" or "Sequential Recognition".

1.	CHECK ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM

(a) Check the DTCs.

for HV Model:

Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes

OK:

Electronically controlled brake system DTCs are not output.

HINT:

If U041881 is output in the pre-collision system, electronically controlled brake system DTCs may also have been output. Check the electronically controlled brake system first.
