Security Indicator Light Does not Blink

DESCRIPTION

  • The transponder key ECU assembly blinks the combination meter assembly (security indicator light) when the immobiliser is set (no key is in the ignition key cylinder).
  • The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) blinks the combination meter assembly (security indicator light) when the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state or alarm sounding state.*

  • Before replacing the transponder key ECU assembly, refer to the Registration.

  • Make sure that no DTCs are output. If any DTCs are output, proceed to the Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart.
  • After completing repairs, confirm that the problem does not recur.
  • After repair, confirm that no DTCs are output by performing "DTC Output Confirmation Operation".
  • When replacing the combination meter assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a combination meter assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in it will not match the information from the vehicle and a DTC may be stored.

PROCEDURE

1.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SECURITY INDICATOR)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Immobiliser or Main Body* / Active Test.

  • *: w/ Theft Deterrent System

(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

(a) When the immobiliser is set, check that the combination meter assembly (security indicator light) blinks.*1

(b) When the theft deterrent system is in the arming preparation state, check that the combination meter assembly (security indicator light) is on.*2
