Engine Switch/Power Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

When the ignition switch is turned to ON, power is supplied to the parking brake ECU assembly. This DTC is stored if the IG power source is not input to the parking brake ECU assembly when communication with other ECUs occurs.

Engine Switch/Power Switch Malfunction

Both of the following conditions are met:

  1. Ignition switch ON
  2. When the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly communicates with the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN communication, IG power supply is not received for approximately 15 seconds.
  • Wire harness or connector
  • IG power source circuit
  • Parking brake ECU assembly

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

NOTICE:

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
  • The electric parking brake may still operate up to 20 seconds after the ignition switch is turned off. Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the ignition switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.
  • When replacing the parking brake ECU assembly, operate the electric parking brake switch (integration control and panel assembly) from the lock side to the release side, as the parking brake indicator light blinks when the ignition switch is first turned to ON.

PROCEDURE

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT - PARKING BRAKE ECU ASSEMBLY)

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Disconnect the parking brake ECU assembly connector.

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
