The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the rear door window frame moulding are shown below.

As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

When performing removal for the rear door window frame moulding, disconnect the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal after fully opening the rear door glass.
PROCEDURE
1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (for HV Model)

Protective Tape
|
(a) Using a clip remover with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the clip and remove the clip.
(b) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the clip and remove part of the rear door weatherstrip LH.

20. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH (CENTER PILLAR SIDE)
HINT:
When removing the rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side), if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side) and rear door panel using a heat light.

NOTICE:
Do not heat the rear door panel and rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side) excessively.
(a) Using a heat light, heat the rear door panel and rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).
(b) Apply protective tape around the rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side) as shown in the illustration.

(c) Using moulding remover D, detach the clip.
|

(d) Using a scraper, start from the top and remove the double-sided tape from the back of the rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).

(e) Detach the guide and remove the rear door window frame moulding LH (center pillar side).

21. REMOVE REAR DOOR FRONT OUTSIDE SEAL LH
(a) Remove the rear door front outside seal LH.

22. REMOVE REAR DOOR WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH (REAR PILLAR SIDE)
(a) Insert a 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.
(b) Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

(c) Apply protective tape around the rear door window frame moulding LH (rear pillar side) as shown in the illustration.

(d) Lightly press the drill bit against the rivets to drill off the rivet flanges, and remove the 3 rivets.
CAUTION:
Be careful of the drilled rivets, as they may be hot.
NOTICE:
-
Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
-
Prying the rivets with the drill may damage the rivet installation holes or drill bit.
(e) Detach the guide to remove the rear door window frame moulding LH (rear pillar side) from the rear door frame.
(f) Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.
23. REMOVE REAR DOOR UPPER WINDOW FRAME MOULDING LH
(a) Insert a 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill.
(b) Tape the 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:

(c) Apply protective tape around the rear door upper window frame moulding LH as shown in the illustration.

(d) Lightly press the drill bit against the rivets to drill off the rivet flanges, and remove the 4 rivets.
CAUTION:
Be careful of the drilled rivets, as they may be hot.
NOTICE:
-
Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
-
Prying the rivets with the drill may damage the rivet installation holes or drill bit.
(e) Detach the guide to remove the rear door upper window frame moulding LH from the rear door frame.
(f) Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.
