REMOVAL
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during front airbag sensor removal/installation are shown below.

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (for HV Model)

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
-
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
-
If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

6. REMOVE FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH
(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
CAUTION:
-
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
-
If this procedure is performed without disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal of the battery, the airbag may deploy even if an impact is applied only to the front airbag sensor. Therefore, make sure that the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal of the battery is disconnected before performing this procedure.
(c) Disconnect the airbag connector.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
(1) Push down the housing lock and slide the CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

(2) Push the housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
NOTICE:
Do not push down the upper part of the CPA shown in the illustration when disconnecting the airbag connector.
(3) After disconnecting the connector, check that the position of the housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.

(d) Remove the bolt.

NOTICE:
-
Loosen the bolt while holding the front airbag sensor LH because the front airbag sensor LH claw is easily damaged.
-
If the front airbag sensor LH has been dropped, replace it with a new one.
(e) Detach the claw to remove the front airbag sensor LH.
