Diagnosis Condition:
Electric parking brake not operating

Malfunction Status:
The ECU power supply is normal but there is a malfunction in the electric parking brake actuator RH internal circuit (short to GND).

Detection Time:
Approximately 1 second (depending on each malfunction)

WIRING DIAGRAM
CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT
NOTICE:
-
To ensure that the electric parking brake does not operate, wait for 3 minutes or more with the ignition switch off, the driver door closed, and the brake pedal not depressed, then disconnect each connector, fuse and relay.
-
After replacing the No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), perform "Calibration".

When replacing the No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), operate the electric parking brake switch (integration control and panel assembly) as the parking brake indicator light blinks when the ignition switch is first turned ON.
PROCEDURE
1.

INSPECT NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY
|
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.
OK:
The connector is securely connected.
(c) Disconnect the MM4 and M49 No. 1 parking brake wire assembly connectors.
(d) Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.
OK:
No deformation or corrosion.
(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 SKID CONTROL ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) - PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY RH)
|
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) Make sure the No. 1 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.
(c) Disconnect the A105 No. 2 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
(d) Disconnect the M49 parking brake actuator assembly RH connector.
(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
