The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed or replaced during the transponder key ECU (Immobiliser code ECU) removal/installation are shown below.

After the ignition switch is turned off, the radio and display receiver assembly records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE TRANSPONDER KEY ECU (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU)
NOTICE:
Do not reuse dropped or damaged parts.

(a) Detach the claw in the direction (1) indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.
(b) Detach the guide in the direction (2) indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration and remove the transponder key ECU (immobiliser code ECU).
